The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is seeking input about a proposed neighborhood greenway in the University District for people who walk or ride bikes between Ravenna Boulevard and the Burke-Gilman Trail.

SDOT will have meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at University Christian Church (4731 15th Ave. N.E.); the presentation will start at 6:30 p.m.

Initial review of data, including the 2013 “U-District Urban Design Framework” report and visits to the neighborhood suggest 12th Avenue Northeast would work well as a greenway. Improvements being considered include:

•Crossing improvements at Northeast 50th, 47th, 45th and 43rd streets;

•New stop signs to control east-west residential street traffic crossing the greenway;

•Traffic calming with speed humps (about one per block) and 20 mph speed signs; and

•Sidewalk and pavement repair.
