Long-time Queen Anne resident Marion Lucile Parker, 97, passed away on January 18, 2015. Marion was born in Minnesota, the daughter of Charles and Abbie Armstrong Edgerton, and moved with her family to Seattle in 1922. She attended Frantz H. Coe Elementary School and graduated from Queen Anne High School. She completed her studies and training as a librarian at the University of Washington, and began her career there. In 1949 she married Seymour “Red” Parker. She moved back to Queen Anne with her family in 1958, living there until 1995.
    Marion was well known to residents of the Hill through her long work and many hours spent at the Queen Anne Branch of the Seattle Public Library, from which she retired in 1980. She was an active member of the Queen Anne United Methodist Church for over 50 years, the PEO and Eastern Star organizations, and the Queen Anne Historical Society. She enjoyed reading, camping,  travel, and her cats. She is survived by her sons, David and Warren, and their families, including five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    A remembrance and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday afternoon, March 14th, at the Phinney Community Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. All friends of Marion are invited to the event between 2 and 5pm. It will be informal, with a session of shared remembrances at 4pm.
